The Itzelberger forest workers wagon is a special type of construction wagon that was specially developed for the needs of forestry .

At the beginning of the 1950s, forest workers in the Baden-Württemberg town of Itzelberg ( Königsbronn ) were looking for sheltered accommodation for forest operations and to keep their clothes dry. They commissioned the local master carpenter Gottlieb Härlen to construct a kind of mobile hut that could be transported to the place of use by vehicle.

This "Itzelberger forest worker wagon" was initially used regionally, then gradually throughout Germany for forestry work. To this day it has been built almost unchanged under the name “Weather Protection Car” and, in addition to forestry, is also used by collectors and enthusiasts.

The original Itzelberger forest workers' wagon was produced in two versions: a larger one was 2.75 meters long and designed for eight people, the smaller one with a length of 2.50 meters for six people.

The chassis frame of the forest workers' vehicle is made of ash wood . The structure, including the round roof, is made of spruce wood and connected with wooden pegs.

In the interior, the Itzelberger forest workers' wagon is equipped with stools and a bench that can be extended to a lounger. A wash basin is also integrated. The car can be heated by means of a wood stove .
