Iulian Chiriță (born February 2, 1967 in Târgovişte ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 262 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A . As a national player, he took part in the 1994 World Cup.

Career

Chiriță came in 1985 in the squad of the first team of CS Târgovişte , who played in the Romanian second division, Divizia B at the time. At the beginning of 1988 he committed first division club Flacăra Moreni . There he was able to finish the 1988/89 season in fourth place and qualify for the UEFA Cup . There he and his team were eliminated in the first round against FC Porto . In the championship Flacara finished only 16th place and had to relegate. Chiriță stayed in the House of Lords because FCM Brașov took him under contract.

With his new club Chiriță played in midfield of the league before Rapid Bucharest signed him in January 1992 . With Rapid he played for the qualification for the UEFA Cup in the following seasons and was able to contribute between eight and twelve goals each season. In 1995, his team moved to the cup final , but lost to Petrolul Ploieşti on penalties. In September 1996 Chiriță returned to Brașov, but already moved to Dinamo Bucharest at the beginning of 1996 . A year later he moved to FC Argeş Piteşti , where he was able to occupy third place in the 1997/98 season . After another season with his hometown club Chindia Târgovişte in Divizia B, he ended his career in 1999.

National team

Chiriță was used three times in the Romanian national team. He made his debut on April 20, 1994 in the friendly against Bolivia . In the next two games he came to short appearances, he was nominated by national coach Anghel Iordănescu for the World Cup in the United States, where Chiriță was not used.
