Iurie Roşca (born October 31, 1961 in Teleneşti, Teleneşti Rajon , Moldovan SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Moldovan politician and journalist . From 1994 to 2011 he was President of the Christian Democratic People's Party (PPCD).

Iurie Roşca was born on October 31, 1961 in Teleneşti in the family of Ion and Zinaida Roşca. He was the youngest child in the family and has an older brother and sister.

In 1984 Iurie Roşca graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the State University of the Republic of Moldova . He then worked as a correspondent for the newspaper Tinerimea Moldovei (The Youth of Moldova), reporter for the National Television of the Republic of Moldova and as a curator for the Dimitrie Cantemir Literature Museum in Chișinău.

In 1989 he was one of the founders of the Popular Front for the Republic of Moldova (predecessor of the PPCD), of which he was Executive President between 1989 and 1994. From 1994 he was a member of the parliament of the Republic of Moldova and since 2005 he has been its vice-president (he held this post from 1998 to 2000). In June 2007, as Vice-President of the Moldovan Parliament, he signed a bilateral agreement with the International Parliament for Security and Peace . In 2009 he left parliament. From June 16 to September 25, 2009, Roşca was Moldova's vice-prime minister in the Greceanîi II cabinet .

In January 2012 Iurie Roşca became one of the founders of the “Committee for the Protection of the Constitution and Democracy”, which organized the protests against the Alliance for European Integration and the government from January to March 2012.
