Iván René Franco Díaz (born April 16, 2000 in Ybycuí ) is a Paraguayan football player who is under contract with the first division club Libertad . The attacking midfielder has been a Paraguayan international since September 2019 .

Career

Iván Franco comes from the youth department of Club Libertad in the Paraguayan capital Asunción . For the 2018 season he was promoted to the first team of the first division . On February 3, 2018 (1st matchday) he made his debut in the 2-2 draw against Sportivo Luqueño in the highest Paraguayan division. He broke into the starting line-up after a short time and scored his first goal on March 4 (5th matchday) in a 4-1 away win against CA 3 de Febrero . In his first season he scored seven goals in 34 league games. In the following game year, 2019, he scored eleven times in 37 league appearances. On March 11, 2020, he scored his first goal in the Copa Libertadores in a 3-2 home win against FC Caracas .

National team

From May 2018 to January 2019 he played three internationals for the Paraguayan U20 national team and took part in the South American Championship in Chile during this time .

On September 10, 2019, the attacking midfielder made his debut in a 4-2 friendly win against Jordan in the senior national team .
