The main motif in Pavle's work is the human being, both in the pictures and in the sculptures, whereby a noteworthy fascination with the enigmatic, the incomprehensible, which he wants to make visible through various artistic modes of expression, is evident. The ambiguity of the human soul, at the same time the complexity of human nature, is formulated artistically by the established painter through the recurring identification signature that is present in his work. This characteristic is a mask that should not be understood in his work as a visual symbol of deception and deception, on the contrary: Pavle's mask stands for the unmasking, unmasking, for catharsis, the purification of the human soul, but also society in general .

In Pavel's work, the topic of human existence also supports the interest in physical expression, in the movement of the individual, in gestures, in the sense of communicative movements. In his work, the interest in the topic of interaction and relationship levels is visible in two or more forms. The long-standing Madon cycle not only symbolizes the examination of one of the main themes of painting, the processing of the past. The Madon cycle is at the same time a close and very intimate message about Ivan Pavle's observations and worldviews. A very significant topic in Pavle's work is mythology, the mysterious world of legends, the power and effect of which can be seen above all in the Babylon cycle .

Ivan Pavle's work is characterized by his deliberately pronounced artistic nature, which is characterized by a productive restlessness. Pavle ties in with the world of yesterday's masters and is interested in the forgotten techniques that he uses and modernizes. The respect for materials and craftsmanship and a perfect knowledge of the traditions connects Pavle with the modern and current content.
