Ivaniš Berislavić († 1514 ) was a Serbian despot from 1504 to 1514 and Banus of Jajce , with the task of protecting the borders of southern Hungary from Ottoman attacks.

He came from the Croatian magnate family of Berislavić. After the former Serbian despot Jovan Branković died, Ivaniš was appointed Serbian despot by the Hungarian King Vladislav II . Before that he had to take Jelena, the widow of Jovan Branković, as his wife. Soon afterwards he also received the ban on Jajce in the then Hungarian part of Bosnia . He owned fiefdoms in Syrmia , where he had his residence in Kupinik , and Slavonski Brod , which he also used as a residence and from where he watched over the cities of Syrmia and Slavonia , and the Jajce bank. AlthoughRoman Catholic , he maintained good contacts with the Orthodox Church and encouraged them to cooperate with Christian Orthodox states such as Russia . Ivaniš Berislavić distinguished himself in the fight against the Ottomans. In 1513 he asked the Hungarian king to release him from his service as Banus von Jajce, as he could no longer meet this due to physical weakness. He passed away a year later. He was followed by his son Stefan Berislavić.
