Ivo Perišin

Ivo Perišin (born July 4, 1925 in Kaštel Kambelovac , † October 30, 2008 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav politician and economist .

He studied at the Universities of Zagreb and Belgrade . Since 1956 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb. In 1977 he became a member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts (today's Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts).

From 1965 to 1967 Ivo Perišin was mayor of Split , then State Secretary in the Yugoslav Ministry of Finance. From 1969 to 1971 he was head of the Yugoslav National Bank and from 1969 to 1972 he was also a member of the Council of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel . 1974 to 1978 he was Parliamentary President of the Parliament of the Socialist Republic of Croatia .
