Ivan Choma

Iwan Choma ( Ukrainian Іван Хома ; born November 27, 1923 in Chyrów , Poland ; † February 3, 2006 in Rome , Italy ) was a bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Church .

Life

Ivan Choma was ordained a priest on June 29, 1949. He received his episcopal ordination as bishop of Przemyśl (Poland) on April 2, 1977, which was only recognized by John Paul II on February 22, 1996 and confirmed with his appointment as titular bishop of Patara .

From 1965 to 1999 he taught church history at the Ukrainian Catholic Exile University of St. Clemens in Rome , where he was rector from 1985 to 2001.
