Ivan Funew
Ivan Zenow Funew ( Bulgarian Иван Ценов Фунев ; born July 24, 1900 in Gorna Beschowiza ; † July 21, 1983 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian sculptor.
Life
He graduated from the Sofia Art School in 1930 with a degree in sculpture. In 1939 he studied in Rome , in 1940 in Paris . From 1945 he worked as a professor at the Sofia Art Academy .
Funew created nudes and busts of Bulgarian artists. An important focus was on works with political, socialist claims.
He was awarded the Order of Georgi Dimitrov and the Dimitrov Prize as a hero of socialist work .
