Ivan Lekov

Ivan Dimitrov Lekow ( Bulgarian Иван Леков ; born March 4, 1904 in Sofia , † August 4, 1978 ibid) was a Bulgarian Slavist and linguist .

Life

Lekow initially studied Slavic Studies in Sofia. He deepened his studies in Krakow , Berlin and Vienna . Since 1948 he worked as a professor at the University of Sofia . He was a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .

In his scientific work he dealt with the morphology and syntax of Bulgarian and other Slavic languages. In addition, he wrote works on the theory of the language system.

He was awarded the Dimitrov Prize.
