Ivan Vasilyevich Kljun ( Russian Иван Васильевич Клюн ; born August 20 . Jul / 1. September  1873 greg. In Bolshie Gorki , Vladimir province , † 13. December 1943 in Moscow ) was a Russian painter , graphic artist and sculptor . He is considered a representative of the Russian avant-garde , especially Suprematism and Constructivism .

Live and act

Kljun was born in 1873 to a peasant family in Bolschije Gorki, east of Moscow . From 1881 he lived with the whole family in Ukraine . In 1890 he moved to Poland , which was then part of the Russian Empire. Originally trained in art in Kiev and Warsaw (also served as an accountant) in 1890. From 1902 to 1907 he attended courses in the Rerberg studio in Moscow, where he met Mashkov and Malevich . Malevich in particular had a great influence on his artistic career and brought him into the circle of the founders of the Russian avant-garde and cubo-futurism , and later to suprematism. At the last futurist exhibition 0.10 in Petrograd in 1915, Kljun showed his cubist and abstract sculptures for the first time. Kljun became a member of the Supremus Society in 1916 and 1917 and later a supporter of French purism . As a result of the increasing repression during Stalinism , he turned - already isolated - to socialist realism .
