Ivan Vinarov

Ivan Winarow ( Bulgarian Иван Винаров ; born February 24, 1896 in Pleven , † July 25, 1969 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian lieutenant general .

Life

Winarow participated in 1918 at Wladaja uprising . In 1923 he emigrated to the Soviet Union . There he became a member of the Red Army . Later, he was secret service in several countries in Europe operate. From 1936 to 1939 he fought in the Spanish Civil War . After his return to Bulgaria he worked in the Bulgarian People's Army . In 1949 he was responsible for supervising the work on the Georgi Dimitrov mausoleum .

He was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Dimitrov Prize .
