Izegrim is a Dutch thrash and death metal band from Zutphen that was founded in 1996.

history

The band was founded in the summer of 1996 by drummer Joep and guitarist Jeroen. After the line-up had changed several times, a permanent line-up was found in early 1997 with bassist Anita B., keyboardist Anita L., singer Kristien and guitarist Niels. In this line-up the group recorded their first demo and released it in the spring of 1998 under the name Most Evil . Towards the end of the year Anita L. left the band to devote herself entirely to her job at Aardschok . The now reduced to five members took up an EP and released it under the name Bird of Prey in the summer of 1999. Shortly after the release, Niels left the line-up and was replaced by Corvin. However, he left the band in July 2000. Corvin was replaced by Carsten.

In November 2002 the release of the debut album Guidelines for Genocide followed . After many concerts to promote the album, Anita B. left the band in April 2004 and was replaced by Marloes. In the summer of 2005, the EP New World Order joined. Shortly after the release, Carsten left the line-up, so the four of the band continued their concerts for a year until a suitable replacement was found in Bart. In early 2008, the second album Tribute to Totalitarianism was released on Rusty Cage Records . After a tour through Europe and another small tour through the Netherlands, Joep and Kristien left the band in summer 2008. Ivo joined the band as the new drummer and Marloes as the new singer.

In March 2009, the band released the next EP with Point of No Return . Immediately after the release, work on the next album Code of Consequences began . The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jörg Uken in the Soundlodge Studio . The album was released in February 2011 via Listenable Records .

style

The band plays a mixture of Thrash and Death Metal, with the music reminiscent of Arch Enemy in places , but mainly differing vocally.
