Ján Čapkovič
Ján Čapkovič (born November 1, 1948 in Bratislava ) is a former Slovak football player .
Player career
Ján Čapkovič started playing football at ČH Bratislava , at the age of 18 he moved to Slovan Bratislava . There the left winger played 285 first division games in which he scored 100 goals. In 1972 he was the top scorer in the Czechoslovak League with 19 goals . With Slovan Čapkovič won the Czechoslovak football championship in 1970, 1974 and 1975 . In 1968 he and his team won the national cup competition , in 1969 Slovan caused a big surprise by winning the European Cup Winners' Cup .
In the Czechoslovak national team Čapkovič played 20 international matches between 1968 and 1974, in which he scored six goals. In 1968 he took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico with the Czechoslovak team .
In 1977 Ján Čapkovič returned to ČH Bratislava, where he ended his career in 1983. He works as a manager at the club, which has since been renamed ŠKP Dúbravka .
His twin brother Jozef Čapkovič was also a Czechoslovak national player.
