Ján Arpáš (born November 7, 1917 in Pressburg , † April 16, 1976 ) was a Slovak football player .

Career

In the club

Ján Arpáš joined ŠK Bratislava in 1939 . For the club, he completed 166 league games in seven seasons and scored 151 goals. With Bratislava, the striker was four times Slovak champion and three times top scorer in the 1st Slovak league.

For the 1947/48 season Arpáš moved to the Italian Serie A at Juventus Turin , where the Czech Čestmír Vycpálek was coach. After only one season in Turin and third place in Italy's top division, the Slovak ended his active career in 1948.

In the national team

Arpáš played twelve times for the Slovak national team and scored four goals. He scored his first goal on August 27, 1939 in a 2-0 win over Germany .
