József Lendvay (born November 7, 1974 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian violin virtuoso .

Musical career

Early years & studies

József Lendvay grew up in a highly musical family. His father "Csócsi" Lendvay is one of the most popular interpreters of gypsy folklore in Hungary and internationally. At the age of seven he won the first of numerous violin competitions.

International activity & solo experience

Lendvay was long-time concertmaster of the Philharmonic of Nations and is a permanent guest soloist with the Budapest Festival Orchestra . He also has regular appearances in The Hague, Berlin, St. Etienne, Bern, Los Angeles, Aspendos, Shanghai and played there with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Netherlands Radio Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra , the City of Birmingham Orchestra and the Orchester de la Suisse Romande . He worked u. a. together with the conductors Iván Fischer and Sir Simon Rattle .
