Gisela Albrecht

Gisela Albrecht , nee Gisela Bröcker (born February 12, 1944 in Göttingen ) is a German dermatologist and former managing director of the Kaiserin Friedrich Foundation , Berlin.

Life

Gisela Albrecht, née Bröcker, was born in 1944 in Göttingen as the daughter of the psychiatrist Friedrich Bröcker and his wife Else. She grew up with her younger sister in Bremen, where she graduated from high school in 1963 . After training as a nurse at the St. Jürgen municipal hospitals in Bremen, she studied medicine from 1966 to 1972 in Würzburg , Vienna , Heidelberg and Munich with a grant from the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst . In addition to the German, she also passed the American state examination. In the same year she was from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich Dr. med. PhD. During her time in Munich she met her future husband, the psychiatrist and neurologist Jochen Albrecht. She has been married to him since 1975.

After studying and doing a doctorate and as a medical assistant in Landau an der Isar , Neuburg an der Donau and Munich, she started working as an assistant doctor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the LMU Munich, but shortly afterwards moved to Berlin with her husband . There she took up a position in the Dermatology Clinic and Polyclinic in the Steglitz Clinic of the Free University of Berlin under the direction of the dermatologist Hans-Wolfgang Spier . After acquiring the specialist title for skin and venereal diseases, Gisela Albrecht worked as a senior physician from 1977.

In 1984 Gisela Albrecht became chief physician in the department of dermatology at the Spandau Clinic in Berlin. In 1990 Albrecht first became deputy director and then in 2001 medical director of the Spandau Clinic, which a little later was combined with all the city hospitals in Berlin to form Vivantes GmbH. After her retirement in 2009, she worked for three and a half years in outpatient care in a dermatologist center in Berlin-Tegel.

A particular concern of Gisela Albrecht was the promotion of dermatologists in taking on management tasks. In 2000 she founded the association “Women in Dermatology”, of which she was president for many years.

In 2009 she took over the honorary management of the Kaiserin Friedrich Foundation for medical training in Berlin.
