Jörg-Dieter Kogel

Jörg-Dieter Kogel (* 1950 ) is a German journalist and radio editor.

Life

Kogel studied German, philosophy and history in Cologne . In addition to his work as a research assistant at the University of Cologne , he has worked freelance for newspapers and ARD broadcasters since 1975. From 1983 he worked as a culture editor and presenter at Radio Bremen , and from 1989 onwards as head of the "Kultur aktuell" department. 1993 editor-in-chief "Kultur aktuell" at Deutschlandfunk and after returning to Radio Bremen head of the department "Culture and Society". From 2003 to 2016 program manager of the Northwest Radio of Radio Bremen and the NDR .

Kogel is a member of the historical commission of ARD as well as co-founder and member of the board of the Günter-Grass-Stiftung Bremen. He has been a juror for non-fiction books of the month since 2003 and has been a member of the board of the Wolfgang Koeppen Foundation since 2016 .

Kogel is married to Irene Kogel. The couple has three daughters.
