Jörg Bettendorf

Jörg Bettendorf (* 1946 ) is a German notary .

Career

Bettendorf has been working as a notary since 1983, initially in Krefeld and since 2005 in Hilden .

Beyond his immediate professional sphere of activity, he campaigned for the interests of his profession. In 1997 he became a member of the board of directors of the Rhineland Chamber of Notaries and served as its vice-president from 2001 to April 2009.

Since it was founded in 1981, he has long been a member of the IT working group of the Rhineland Chamber of Notaries and also acted as chairman of the IT committee of the Federal Chamber of Notaries . In these offices he was instrumental in promoting the use of information technology in the notary's office.

He played a key role in founding Notarnet GmbH in 2000, which, with the notary network, provides notaries throughout Germany with a secure network for electronic communication. In 2005, IT recommendations for notaries and notary auditors were drawn up under his leadership. He also played a key role in the introduction of electronic signatures and a certification body for digital signatures at the Federal Chamber of Notaries.
