Jörg Blobelt

Jörg Blobelt (* 1949 ) is a German architect as well as architecture and landscape photographer .

Life

Jörg Blobelt studied architecture at the Technical University of Dresden . There he received his doctorate in 1980 with the dissertation “ Basics for the optimization of multi-storey industrial housing from the perspective of the floor plan geometry with special attention to material consumption” . Blobelt then took on a job at the Dresden branch of the GDR Building Academy . Since 1990 he has been working as a freelance architect in Dresden.

Parallel to these activities, Blobelt photographed architecture and landscapes and thus built an archive of over 70,000 images. His pictures have been published in a number of books, particularly in collaboration with the art historian Matthias Donath .
