Jörg Lesczenski

Jörg Lesczenski (* 1966 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German historian . Since 2006 he has been teaching at the Chair of Economic and Social History at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

After graduating from the Schalke Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen, Lesczenski studied history , political science and sociology at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In addition to his studies, he worked as a freelancer for various local newspapers until 2006. From 1999 to 2003 Lesczenski worked at the Ruhr University in Bochum as a research assistant at the chair for economic and social history. He also worked at the Center for Interdisciplinary Ruhr Area Research.

In 2004 he headed the project “Resistance in Bottrop during the Nazi era ” at the Bottrop City Archives, where he subsequently worked. Lesczenski then received his doctorate in 2006 in Frankfurt am Main on the entrepreneur August Thyssen . Since 2006, Lesczenski has been employed at the Chair for Economic and Social History at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .
