Jörg Mayer (Notary)

Jörg Mayer (born October 19, 1956 in Augsburg ; † October 23, 2015 ) was a German notary . His main focus was on German inheritance law .

Life

Mayer studied law at the University of Würzburg and, after taking the first state examination in 1980, became a research assistant with Kurt Kuchinke . As part of this activity, Mayer worked on the standard textbook on inheritance law , which Kuchinke published from the 2nd edition. After the second state examination, Mayer received a position as a notary assessor . In 1987 he took over the notary's office in Pottenstein , where he worked until 2005. Then he moved his official seat to Simbach am Inn .

Mayer mainly commented on inheritance law norms in large legal standard commentaries such as the Munich Commentary or the Staudinger . In addition, he was a co-author of several standard works and the author of articles in legal journals. On February 6, 2015, Mayer was appointed honorary professor at the University of Erlangen / Nuremberg in the field of civil law, in particular family and inheritance law.
