Jörg Schlegel

Jörg Schlegel (born November 16, 1940 in Braunsberg , East Prussia , † September 20, 2010 in Berlin ) was a German economic functionary. From 1975 to 1981 he was State Secretary in Berlin.

Life

Jörg Schlegel studied at the Free University of Berlin and graduated as an economist in 1966. In the same year he accepted a position at the Federal Cartel Office . In 1969 Schlegel became press spokesman here and in 1971 also head of personnel.

In 1975 Jörg Schlegel was appointed State Secretary to the Senate Department for Economics and Transport . With the resignation of the social-liberal senate under the governing mayor Dietrich Stobbe , Schlegel was put into temporary retirement .

In 1983 Schlegel took over the management of the Berlin State Association of Independent Housing Companies. In 1988 he became the deputy general manager of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) in Berlin. At the same time he became managing director of the IHK subsidiary BAO Berlin International (office for work and organizational psychology). He held both positions until he retired and became a key figure in Berlin's economy in the years after German reunification .
