Jörg Tochenhagen (born December 12, 1966 ) is a German programmer, author and media entrepreneur. From 1984 to 2004 he was an active programmer for the computer and operating systems Sinclair ZX Spectrum , ATARI , IBM OS / 2 and Microsoft Windows , was jointly responsible for the software for displaying the results of the shooters at the 2004 Summer Olympics and has been a co-operator since 2004 of the Bob-Media company.

Activities as programmer, author and entrepreneur

From 1982 to 1986 Tochenhagen worked as a programmer for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum systems and from 1987 for the ATARI computer system. The first commercial software was published in 1990 by the Berlin company TommySoftware . This was the music / sampling software Sound Merlin , which was developed entirely in the native machine language. After that, Tochenhagen was a co-designer of the graphics program Arabesque 2, which was launched in 1993 at no! Software appeared. The porting of the ATARI graphics software Arabesque for the IBM operating system OS / 2 was then commissioned via the Cologne-based company TEAM Computer, which was also available via no! Software has been released.

In 1997, work began on a Windows software that evaluates, archives and graphically displays sports shooting results. During this time, Jörg Tochenhagen developed a flexible module system that was able to process the data supplied by various evaluation systems in order to transmit rankings and shot results to other client systems as well as to display them via a graphical interface. The software was used between 1997 and 2003 in various national and international sport shooting competitions (including world championships), in which TV stations were able to use the video presentations provided by the software for their programs.

Between 2003 and 2004 this software was further developed in cooperation with a Linux programmer and used at the 2004 Summer Olympics. The recording and presentation of the results on the hall screen and on the Internet was implemented using a specially developed TCP- based communication system (PLEC) and the Adobe Flash software . The system can be used flexibly both locally and in the intranet or Internet.

In 2000, when he was dealing with the DVD players that were only recently launched on the market, Jörg Tochenhagen launched the online DVD player test magazine DV-REC. Furthermore, between 2002 and 2003, he wrote, partly in cooperation with other authors, various articles and books on the subject of video editing, DVD and VideoCD. As early as the 1990s, Tochenhagen had contributed to the online satirical magazine ZYN .

In 2004 Jörg Tochenhagen was a co-founder of the media company Bob-Media. In the course of numerous DVD and Blu-Ray productions, for which he took over the technical direction and DVD authoring, various independent music labels in the areas of pop, rock, metal, gothic, indie and alternative were founded (including Echozone and Fastball) . The label's catalog includes productions by the artists Robin Beck , Rick Springfield , Wayne Hussey and Paul Raven . In addition to the management of the sub-label Echozone, Jörg Tochenhagen also took on the implementation of all video productions and shot various video clips for bands from their own music labels. For example, he directed the videos for Days of Rain by rock band Blowsight and 100 Burning Guitars by electro rock formation Akanoid .
