Jörg W. Busch

Jörg W. Busch (born November 1, 1959 in Wiesbaden ) is a German medieval historian .

After studying Middle and Modern History, Political Science and Philosophy at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , Busch received his doctorate in 1987 under Alfons Becker . From 1987 to 1992 he was a research associate in the project “The writing process in the northern Italian municipalities”, led by Hagen Keller , of the Collaborative Research Center 231 “Pragmatic Writing” at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . 1992–1995 he received a DFG habilitation grant and taught at the history seminar of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1994/95 he completed his habilitation at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. Between 1995 and 1997 he was represented at professorships in Gießen , Münster and Frankfurt am Main.

From 1997 to 2002 he was a Heisenberg scholarship holder and since 2001 an adjunct professor at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. From 2002 to 2005 he was a professor and lecturer in Passau and Frankfurt am Main, from 2005 to 2008 he was a lecturer at the history seminar of the University of Frankfurt am Main and since 2008 professor at the history seminar there. In 2008 he was appointed private lecturer and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Frankfurt since 2009.
