Júlio Gonçalves Moreira

Júlio Gonçalves Moreira (born July 25, 1854 in Porto , † October 23, 1911 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese Romanist and Lusitanist .

life and work

Moreira taught a wide range of linguistic subjects in secondary school from the age of 17. His most famous student was José Leite de Vasconcelos . In 1907 Moreira collected some of his scientific writings , which appeared in article form, in the first volume of the Estudos , to which Vasconcelos added a second posthumously in 1913. Moreira was one of the well-known Romanists of his time.
