The Jewish elementary school in Herleshausen , a community in the Werra-Meißner district in Hesse , was founded in 1843.

In 1867 a new school building was built next to the synagogue for the elementary school , also known as the Israelite elementary school . The employed teacher was also active as a prayer leader and schochet .

The following teachers are known: around 1866 J. In 1922, Max Moses moved to Spangenberg , where he stayed for three years until the local elementary school was closed and then moved to Aurich . After 1922, Elchanan / Feivel Alexandrowitz (d. 1931) only one religion teacher was employed, as the school was only run as a religious school.
