Telč Jewish Community
The Jewish community in Telč (German Teltsch ), a Czech city in Jihlava District of Olomouc region , originated in the 16th century.
history
The first mention of Jews in Telč is handed down in 1580. At the beginning of the 17th century, four families lived here, by 1690 there were already eleven families. Since the beginning of the 18th century they lived like in a ghetto in Judengasse .
The Jewish community in Telč, one of the smallest in South Moravia, had around 100 members around 1910.
On May 15, 1942, all 67 Jews from Telč were deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp .
