Jewish cemetery (Bückeburg)
The Jewish cemetery Bückeburg is a Jewish cemetery in the Lower Saxony city of Bückeburg in the Schaumburg district . There are 168 gravestones in the 3,440 m² cemetery on Birkenallee.
history
The cemetery was first mentioned in 1793, but it is definitely older. In 1824 it was expanded to include an adjacent garden plot. Enclosing with a hedge was prohibited in 1825.
After the Second World War , the cemetery was restored in 1950. Since 1960 it has been owned by the State Association of Jewish Communities of Lower Saxony .
In 1955, 1975 and 1992 the cemetery was desecrated.
