The Jewish cemetery Nový Bydžov is a Jewish cemetery in Nový Bydžov (German Neubidschow ) in Okres Hradec Králové in the Královéhradecký kraj region in the Czech Republic .

description

The cemetery was established in 1520 and is the third oldest in Bohemia . The oldest gravestone dates from 1577. There are 1480 gravestones on an area of ​​more than 5000 m². Most date from the 17th and 18th centuries and are mostly made of sandstone . Up until 1885, not only members of the local community , but also Jews from the immediate and wider area were buried here. Almost seventy Austrian, Prussian and Saxon soldiers from the battle of 1866 are also buried here.
