Jewish cemetery (Begau)
The Jewish cemetery Begau is located in the Begau district of the city of Alsdorf in the city region of Aachen ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). It is located on the Alter Römerweg.
The Jewish cemetery was only occupied from before 1900 to 1940. There are still seven tombstones ( mazewot ) left. The last burial took place on November 22, 1940. In 1996, the city of Alsdorf erected a memorial next to the still-preserved tombstones to commemorate the Jewish citizens who were murdered in the concentration camps and who died while emigrating .
