history

On June 2, 1872, the Jewish community in Bonn purchased the property on Ringstrasse, now called Augustusring. The first burial took place on April 4, 1873 for the toddler Hermann Heymann. The burial places are laid out in three rows and immediately after the entrance to the right is the ceremonial hall built in 1901 in the classical style. It was designed by Noël's city planning officer in Bonn. As early as 1899, a mortuary was built from field bricks at the end of the cemetery property.

Opposite the entrance is a war memorial for the Jewish soldiers who died in the First World War . To the left of it is a memorial that commemorates the Jewish citizens of Bonn who were murdered during the Nazi era .
