The Dorsten Jewish cemetery in the Hasselbecke Nature Park

The Dorsten Jewish Cemetery is located in the so-called "Judenbusch" in the Hasselbecke Nature Park in the Feldmark district of Dorsten . The approximately 1500 m² site was first mentioned in 1628 and in 1790 became the property of the city. Between 1857 and 1941 the area served as a burial place for the Jewish community.

A total of 27 grave sites are still recognizable today. Of these, 19 graves can be individually assigned. Several grave sites belong to the Eisendrath family who emigrated to the USA around 1850 and who have been involved in renovating the cemetery again and again up to the present day.
