The Jewish cemetery in Kostelec nad Labem (German Elbekosteletz , formerly also Elbkosteletz ), a town in Okres Mělník in the Czech Republic , was probably laid out in the 16th century. The Jewish cemetery has been a protected cultural monument since 2008 .

history

In the 19th century the cemetery was expanded. During the communist era, the area fell into disrepair: gravestones were knocked over and in some cases destroyed. After 2000 the restoration of the cemetery began. Today there are around 300 tombstones ( Mazevot ) left.
