The Jewish cemetery Bad Frankenhausen is located in the area of ​​the city of Bad Frankenhausen / Kyffhäuser in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

The Jewish cemetery is located in the Napptal, north of the city, northeast of the B 85, directly opposite the Sennhütte forest restaurant. The approximately 250 m² cemetery is surrounded by a wooden picket fence. There is no information about the number of tombstones . In the cemetery there is a memorial stone with the inscription In memory of the dead who rest here in peace .

The cemetery was laid out in 1852, until then the dead of the Jewish Frankenhausen families were buried in an older cemetery on the Schlachtberg. The exact location of this cemetery is no longer known. The cemetery in Napptal was extensively repaired between 1954 and 1956, a memorial stone was erected.

Desecrations of the cemetery

The cemetery, which was laid out in 1852, was desecrated in 1884 and partially destroyed during the Nazi era . After 1945 the cemetery was desecrated in 1954 and 1979. The 1979 perpetrator has been identified.
