The Jewish Community Center in Krakow ( Centrum Społeczności Żydowskiej , Jewish Community Center Krakow , JCC) was established in 2008 with the support of Prince Charles , is located in Kraków 's Kazimierz district on Miodowa Street and is next to the Temple Synagogue . The JCC should not be confused with the Jewish Community in Krakow. The community is recognized by the state and the JCC is a private organization.

The main aim of the center is to support the Jewish community in Krakow. The JCC sees itself as a meeting point for people of Jewish descent. But the door of the JCC in Krakow is also open to people who are interested in Jewish culture, religion and tradition. Various workshops, courses and language courses take place every day. In addition, exhibitions, vernissages , festivals, film screenings, book presentations and lectures on the subjects of Judaism, Hasidism , Halacha and principles of religion are organized. It also serves as a meeting place for the Sabbath and kosher meals. Jewish festivals are also celebrated in the Jewish Community Center. The center also houses a senior citizens' club, the Krakow Jewish student club and a small kindergarten. In the basement is the Remuh library, which was founded in June 2005 by the Jewish association “Czulent”. The library, which has a book collection of 2,000 volumes, is the only public Jewish library in Poland. There you will find Israeli literature, the Torah and the Talmud, memoirs, albums, textbooks and dictionaries. There are also books available in the library on the subject of war, the Holocaust , anti-Semitism and the Polish-Jewish dialogue. There are also books from the field of psychology, philosophy, cookbooks and children's books.

On June 12, 2002, Prince Charles came to Krakow to visit. The prince was particularly enthusiastic about the Kraków district of Kazimierz. On June 13, 2002, during a meeting with representatives of the Jewish religious community, he learned that the community needed a place next to the synagogue where people could meet. The prince promised to support the religious community. A few weeks later, representatives of the World Jewish Relief came to Krakow to discuss various investment opportunities. The Joint Distribution Committee also supported this initiative.

It took some time to obtain the building permit for the community center, but on November 14, 2006 the inauguration ceremony took place in the Temple Synagogue. The celebration was attended by Nigel Layton as chairman of the World Jewish Relief, Jossi Erez as chairman of the American Joint Distribution Committee, Piotr Kadlčik as chairman of the Association of Jewish Religious Communities of Poland, Tadeusz Jakubowicz as chairman of the Jewish community in Krakow, Edgar Gluck as chief rabbi of Galicia and Boaz Pash participated as chief rabbi in Krakow. The building was then completed in 2008, so that the opening ceremony took place on April 28, 2008. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla also took part in this celebration .

The building has an area of ​​approximately 800 square meters. It is not only intended to serve Jewish organizations and the Jewish community, but also tourists and everyone who lives in Krakow. In the building are u. a. Offices, conference rooms and common rooms. Both language courses and sports activities take place in the common rooms. Often these rooms also serve as a meeting place for the Sabbath and for kosher meals.
