Jürgen Alberts (born August 4, 1946 in Kirchen / Sieg ) is a German writer who is particularly known for his crime novels .

life and work

After studying German, history and political science in Tübingen and Bremen , Alberts initially worked as a freelancer for WDR and ZDF , for which he wrote scripts and radio plays. In 1969 he published his first novel Nokasch u. a. and in 1984 (together with Sven Kuntze) his first crime novel The Brain Station . Numerous other crime stories and novels followed, including his 10-volume series about the Bremen police, his series about the stoned detective J. B. Cool and - as one of the latest publications - the Hanseatic Trilogy .

In addition to his work as an author, Alberts is active as the organizer of the Bremen crime festival Prime Time Crime Time and as the initiator of the Literary Asservatenkammer , the first German crime library, located in the Bremen Central Library. Until his spectacular resignation in December 2004, he was a member of the Lower Saxony-Bremen board of the Association of German Writers (VS) in ver.di ; Together with nine other authors, he formulated a Bremen Declaration of the Ten , in which the dependent "shadowy existence" of the association in a "mammoth union" was criticized.
