Jürgen Baur (lawyer)

Jürgen Baur (born September 13, 1935 in Cologne-Lindenthal ) is a German lawyer and author of the legal commentary on investment laws, first published in 1970.

Life

Jürgen Baur graduated from high school in 1955 at the ancient language branch of the State Apostle High School in Cologne. He received a scholarship from the Cologne High School and Foundation Fund in the upper school . In 1955 he began a six-month internship in a bank and then studied law at the University of Cologne . In 1959 he passed the first state examination in law and in 1964 the second state examination in law, and at the same time received a doctorate in law from the University of Cologne. jur. utr. with a work on the philosophy of the state with Ernst von Hippel on “God, Law and Secular Regiment in the Works of Calvin”. The dissertation was published as volume 44 in the writings on legal theory and politics, edited by Ernst von Hippel. In 1960/61 Jürgen Baur completed a six-month internship at the European Communities in Brussels, General Directorate Internal Market. From 1964 to 1966 he worked as a salaried lawyer in Cologne, and from 1966 to 1969 as a research assistant at the Federal Association of Private Banking in Cologne. In 1969 he moved to the legal department of the private bank Berliner Handels-Gesellschaft in Frankfurt am Main, which later merged with Frankfurter Bank to form BHF-Bank . From 1970 to 1974 he was managing director of the Frankfurt Trust Investment Company and the Frankfurter Vermögenstreuhand (group subsidiaries of the BHF Bank, Frankfurt). 1973/1974 at the same time and from 1974 to 2007 Jürgen Baur was managing director of the 1973 founded Aachener Grundbesitz Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH , Cologne.

Jürgen Baur has been a member of the CDU since 1970 , initially in Frankfurt am Main and since 1974 in Cologne. In Frankfurt am Main he was an elected member of the first local advisory council of Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen in 1972/1973 for the CDU .

After being elected by the responsible ministry of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Jürgen Baur was appointed a member of the administrative board of the Cologne Gymnasium and Foundation Fund in 1982 and chairman of the administrative board in 1994. Jürgen Baur resigned from this office on December 31, 2011. The adoption took place with honor in January 2012 by the government vice-president Ulrike Schwarz.

Since 1998 he has been the auditor of St. Elisabeth Help for Sick Catholic Sisters e. V., Cologne. Jürgen Baur has been a member since 2000 and has been deputy chairman of the foundation board of the Maria Theresia Bonzel Foundation, Olpe, since 2011. In 2003 he was appointed to the board of the St. Marien Hospital Foundation, Cologne.

From 1998 to 2004 he was the deputy chairman of the board of the KSD Katholischer Siedlungsdienst e. V, Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development, Berlin. As a representative of the KSD, he was a participant in the AEK working group of the Evangelical Settlement Works and the KSD Katholischer Siedlungsdienst e. V., also to the working group of the European Christian settlement and housing companies.

1986 to 2006 he was chairman of the home association of the Catholic student association K.St.V. Rheinpfalz zu Cologne in KV, there from 1981 to 1986 board member of the old gentlemen's association.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the church council of a Catholic parish in Cologne-Lindenthal / Kriel, which was originally formed from four parishes. Before that, he was a member of the parish council in one of the original parishes for eight years , including four years as chairman, and from 1994 to 2006 member of the church council, including deputy chairman since 1997.

Since 2009 he has been managing director of SVG - Sonder Vermögens-Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH and IFAGE Grundstücksverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH in Wiesbaden, which manage the office property Unter den Eichen 7, on behalf of five German Catholic dioceses.

He is a great-great-grandson of Johann Nicola Baur from Adenau / Eifel. Jürgen Baur is a Roman Catholic, married, has a daughter and a son. He lives in Cologne.
