Jürgen Bertram

Jürgen Bertram (* 1940 ) is a German journalist and author.

For around 40 years, until his retirement in May 2000, Bertram worked for the German Press Agency , Der Spiegel magazine and several daily newspapers, among others . Of his 30 years as a journalist for ARD, he worked 13 years in Asia ( Singapore and Beijing ) as a foreign correspondent . For the last five years, Bertram headed the current affairs department at NDR (1995–2000).

Bertram published several books and produced the film Die Helden von Bern for NDR in the mid-1970s .

A controversial discussion arose about Jürgen Bertram through his book Mattscheibe - Das Ende der Fernsehkultur . In it, he describes in retrospect how mechanisms for surreptitious advertising , tabloidization and corruption , a lack of socio-critical reflection and the loss of quality standards of the television stations in the public broadcasters could arise.
