Jürgen Diefenbach (born March 27, 1956 ) is a former German soccer player .

The trained midfielder initially played for SV Erzhausen in his youth before moving to Kickers Offenbach , where he matured to become a youth national player.

In 1974 he moved to Hertha BSC in West Berlin . There Diefenbach could not play in the first team in the season 74/75, which ended with the runner-up championship . It was only from 1975 and his retraining as a defender that he became a reliable regular for several years. Jürgen Diefenbach played a total of 104 Bundesliga games (2 goals) for Hertha between 1974 and 1980 and reached the finals of the DFB Cup in both 1977 and 1979 . After Hertha was surprisingly relegated in 1980, Diefenbach played 17 games in the second division for Hertha.

Later he played at least from 1986 to 1990 in the amateur league for Spandauer SV . He belongs to the "Hans-Rosenthal-Elf" along with other former professionals. Diefenbach works as a physiotherapist in Reinickendorf.
