Jürgen Eppelsheim
Jürgen Eppelsheim (born May 27, 1930 in Ludwigshafen ) is a German musicologist .
Life
He studied musicology, Latin and Romance philology in Heidelberg , Mainz and Munich with Thrasybulos Georgiades . After receiving his doctorate in Munich in 1958 and the state examination for teaching qualifications (French, Latin, Italian) in Heidelberg in 1960, he worked as a research assistant at the Württemberg State Library . From 1961 he was a research assistant for musicology at the University of Munich. After the Habilitation 1972 professor he taught from 1978 to 1995 in Munich. His research areas were the history of European musical instruments and the use of the instruments in ensembles.
