Jürgen Hähnchen (born October 4, 1941 ) is a former German soccer player who played in the second-rate GDR league with the BSG Lokomotive Bergen in the 1970s .

Athletic career

The company sports community (BSG) Lok Bergen was represented in three seasons in the GDR league between 1971 and 1976. During this time, Jürgen Hahnchen was part of the squad of the GDR league team. 1971/72 Lok Bergen played as a climber in the GDR league. 22 league games were played, in which the 30-year-old striker Hahnchen was called up at every encounter. Lok Bergen has scored 37 goals this season, of which Chicken scored 15. He was not only the top scorer of his team, but was also at the top of the scorers of the league season A. The potential of the BSG Lok Bergen was not enough to keep the league, so the relegation to the Rostock district league followed.

It took two years before the team won the district championship in 1974 and thus managed to return to the GDR league. Hahnchen played a decisive role in this, with his 31 goals making it the best shooter in the district league. In the 1974/75 season Lok Bergen managed to stay up, with Hahnchen having 21 appearances in 22 league games and six goals. 1975/76 it was again not enough to keep the league. Far behind, the Lok team ended up in last place in the table with only one win, which was also due to the poor scoring with only 19 goals. Hahnchen was also weak at 34 and only scored four goals.

After relegated again, the BSG locomotive Bergen no longer managed to return to higher-class football. This also applies to Jürgen Hähnchen, who was the BSG Lok's most successful goalscorer with 25 goals in the three GDR league seasons and only missed one game in 65 league appearances.
