Jürgen Heigl (born March 19, 1985 in Steyr ) is an Austrian rally co-driver and co-driver in the World and European rally championships.

Career

In 2008, Heigl started out as a rally co-driver in the Austrian hobby rally scene. From 2011 he competed in international races, first with Michael Kogler in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge . 2013 came the first year of an international full-time championship with Andreas Aigner in the European rally championship , which ended with the European championship in the production class. Then came outings with drivers such as Achim Mörtl , Raffael Sulzinger , Yannick Neuville , Walter Mayer and Julian Wagner in the Austrian State Rally Championship , the German Rally Championship and also various World Cup and European Championship races. Jürgen Heigl has been taking part in the Junior World Rally Championship with the German Julius Tannert since 2017 , where they have so far achieved victories in the Rally Germany and the Corsica Rally alongside several other podium places . In 2019 the first outing with an English-speaking driver (Hiroki Arai from Japan) followed in the European Rally Championship.

Personal

Jürgen Heigl originally comes from Arbing in Upper Austria and has lived in Sankt Georgen im Attergau not far from Lake Attersee since 2011 .
