Jürgen Plöhn

Jürgen Plöhn (* 1957 in Hamburg ) is a German political scientist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1976, Plöhn studied political science and law at the University of Hamburg (Diploma 1983) and in the USA as well as administrative sciences at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer (Magister rerum publicarum 1985). In 1982 he earned a Masters of Arts in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis . From 1985 to 1991 he was a research assistant at the University of Kaiserslautern , 1991, he was at Winfried Steffani in Hamburg Dr. phil. PhD. Afterwards he was a consultant for fundamental questions in Bonn.

In 1992 he became a research assistant at the Institute for Political Science at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . On the side he was in Washington, DC for research purposes and a lecturer in Cologne. In 2002 he completed his habilitation in political science in Halle. He became an examiner and lecturer for gifted students at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (freelancer from 2007 to 2011) and a private lecturer. From 2003 to 2005 he was Academic Director of the Center for German and European Studies (ZEDES-Germanicum) at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ochridski “(Bulgaria). Since 2011 he has been an adjunct professor in Halle and holder of the professorship for Economics and Politics at the EBC Hochschule Hamburg.

He is u. a. Member of the German Society for Political Science , the German Association for Political Science and the German Association for Parliamentary Issues .
