Jürgen Schön (politician)

Jürgen Schön (born September 17, 1948 in Leipzig ) is a German politician and was a member of the NPD and the Freedom Party of Germany .

From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament . He had been a member of the NPD since 1990, he was state chairman in Saxony from 1990 to 1992 and was deputy state chairman until December 2005. From 1996 to 2004 he was also deputy party chairman.

On January 21, 2005, Schön left the Saxon state parliament with the NPD parliamentary group in order not to have to attend a minute of silence for the victims of the National Socialist regime because there was no minute of silence for the victims of the bombs in Dresden.

On December 23, 2005, he resigned from the NPD and the NPD parliamentary group. He gave human and political disappointment as reasons.

In the NPD, Schön was an opponent of marches and alliances of the party with so-called comradeships. In January 2006 he joined the Freedom Party of Germany (FP Deutschlands), a democratic right-wing and nationalist party. In October 2006, however, Schön resigned from this party and has been non-party ever since.

After the state elections in 2009 , he resigned from the state parliament in September 2009.
