Holger Szymanski

Holger Szymanski (born December 6, 1972 in Görlitz ) is a German politician ( NPD ). From January 2013 to July 2015 he was state chairman of the NPD Saxony and was a member of the Saxon state parliament from January to September 2014 . For the state elections in 2014 he was the NPD's top candidate.

Life

Szymanski was in the boarding school of the EOS / POS for the handicapped in Birkenwerder . Szymanski studied law , history and political science at the Technical University of Dresden . From 2000 to the end of 2004 he ran a mail order shop in Dresden . Szymanski is single and non-denominational.

Political activity

Szymanski was a member of the Free German Youth from 1986 to 1989 . In February 1990 he was involved in the founding of the Young Social Democrats in the GDR, but resigned in 1991. From 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the party Die Republikaner and temporarily looked after their regional office in Saxony. In 1994 he ran unsuccessfully as a student in the Bundestag and Landtag elections .

He also acted as a founding member of the Junge Landsmannschaft East Prussia (JLO) in Saxony. In 1998 he helped organize a winter college in the premises of the Cheruscia Dresden fraternity at the Technical University of Dresden, in which officials from the NPD and the East Prussian Young Country Team took part.

Szymanski has been a member of the NPD since 2004. In 2004 he was responsible for public relations at the National Alliance of Dresden . From April 2006 to August 2009, he also served as press spokesman of the group National Alliance for Dresden in the Dresden City Council operates.

Szymanski was press spokesman for the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament from October 2004 to April 2007. From October 2006 to April 2007 he was also deputy parliamentary group manager of the parliamentary group. From May 2007 to June 2008 he was deputy editor-in-chief of the monthly newspaper German Voice, published by the NPD party executive . In June 2008, he succeeded Karl Richter, who was elected to the Munich city council , as head of the parliamentary advisory service of the NPD faction in the Saxon state parliament. After the state elections in 2009 , he also took over the function of the parliamentary group's press spokesman until the end of 2010 from Arne Schimmer, who was elected to the state parliament.

Szymanski took over the state chairmanship of the NPD Saxony in January 2013 and moved up to the Saxon state parliament in January 2014. He succeeded Holger Apfel , who resigned his state parliament mandate and left the NPD. In the Saxon state election in 2014 , Szymanski was the NPD's top candidate. However, the NPD failed to return to the Saxon state parliament. On July 2, 2015, Szymanski resigned from his position as state chairman of Saxony as well as federal manager.
