Winfried Petzold

Winfried Dietmar Konrad Petzold (born March 15, 1943 in Breslau ; † December 22, 2011 ) was a German politician ( NPD ). From 2004 to 2011 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament for the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) .

Life

After completing the 10th grade, Winfried Petzold completed an apprenticeship as an elevator fitter and worked in the profession he had learned. After completing his commercial training, he worked as a sales representative from 1969 to 1974 and as a freelance draftsman from 1974 to 1976. For twenty years he worked as a self-employed restaurateur, owner of an ice cream parlor, most recently managing director of a restaurant.

He was married and had one child.

politics

Until the fall of the Wall , Petzold was non-party. In 1989 he joined the Republicans and was the REP state chairman of Saxony from 1991 to 1993. In 1995 he joined the NPD, and since 1998 he has been chairman of the NPD regional association in Saxony . In 2009 he resigned from office and Holger Apfel was his successor; while Petzold was given the honorary chairmanship of the regional association.

From 2004 until his death, Petzold was a member of the Saxon state parliament. For him moved Mario Löffler according to the state parliament. On January 21, 2005, Petzold and the NPD parliamentary group left the Saxon state parliament when it held a minute's silence for the victims of National Socialism. In October 2006, the plenum of the Saxon state parliament lifted Petzold's immunity. The background was a criminal case for insult.

In the 2005 Bundestag election he ran unsuccessfully in the Chemnitz constituency .
