Arne Wolfgang Schimmer (born July 4, 1973 in Munich ) is a German economist and politician of the right-wing extremist NPD . From 2009 to 2014 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament . Since 2009 he has been editor-in-chief of the now-discontinued right-wing extremist NPD-related magazine Hier & Jetzt . Since 2003 he has been working incognito for the Antaios edition of the new right pioneer Götz Kubitschek and his Institute for State Policy in Schnellroda .

Origin and studies

After graduating from high school in 1993, Schimmer graduated from the Europa-Gymnasium in Wörth am Rhein with a degree in economics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , where he became a member of the Dresdensia-Rugia fraternity . Political party

Schimmer joined the right-wing extremist NPD during his studies in 1998 , was a member of the national board of the NPD apron and student organization National Democratic University Association (NHB) from 1999 to 2000 and was elected to the state board of the NPD Saxony in 2007. In 2011 he became a member of the NPD federal board.

In the 2013 federal election , he ran unsuccessfully in the Vogtland district (4.2% of the first votes).

He has been with the German voice since 2000/01 , and in October 2004 he joined the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament . A repetitive, fluid change between party and editorial work could be observed. From March 2005 he worked as the party's parliamentary advisor for the committee of inquiry into Sachsen LB and from April 2007 to September 2009 as press spokesman. In the state elections in Saxony in 2009 , Schimmer, who was a direct candidate in the constituency of Dresden 1 (3.7% of the first votes), entered the 5th Saxon state parliament via the state list. He was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and from 2012 one of 19 members of the 3rd Committee of Inquiry (“Neo-Nazi Terror Networks in Saxony”). In the 2014 state elections , the NPD missed re-entry into the state parliament.

Journalism and editing

According to Volker Weiß , he later had contacts with the new right Institute for State Policy (IfS). In 2006 he described Karlheinz Weißmann in the DS as the “most productive representative of this 'ideological conservatism '”. As Kubitschek himself admits, Schimmer was a training participant at IfS in the past.

From 2009 to 2013 Schimmer was editor-in-chief of the JN- related magazine Hier & Jetzt , which was seen as part of the intellectualization efforts of the NPD. According to Helmut Kellershohn , he should propagate a “modern nationalism” there.
