Jürgen Störr (* 1954 in Fritzlar ) is a German artist and filmmaker .

He studied at the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal, at the Fachhochschule in Dortmund, and at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin , where he was appointed master student of Helmut Lortz .

In 1976 he received the Karl Ernst Osthaus Award . Since 1977 he is also a lecturer tätig.1985 he founded with his wife, the artist Roswitha Störr the Ruhrakademie which he heads today. In 1987 he acquired the Schloss Haus Ruhr in Schwerte for this purpose , which he had renovated and expanded. In 1991 he was appointed university professor. First he taught in Wuppertal , since 2009 at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. Besides his work as an artist, filmmaker and professor, he is also active as a judge, including as judges in the international architectural competition Zollverein Park of World Cultural Heritage Zollverein in Essen.
