Maria Dutli-Rutishauser

Maria Dutli-Rutishauser (born November 26, 1903 in Obersommeri as Maria Rutishauser , † September 9, 1995 in Münsterlingen ) was a Swiss writer .

Life

Maria Dutli-Rutishauser came from a Catholic family; the father was a farmer and mayor . Maria Dutli-Rutishauser grew up with seven siblings, attended elementary school in Sommeri and a girls' boarding school in Ingenbohl . In 1927 she married the bank clerk Josef Ulrich Dutli. The couple settled in Steckborn ; the marriage resulted in six children. Maria Dutli-Rutishauser mainly devoted herself to the upbringing of her children, but also traveled to Italy and North Africa .

Maria Dutli-Rutishauser made contributions to the radio and various magazines . Since the early 1930s she has published novels , books for young people and radio plays . Her work, which can mainly be assigned to the native literature, is shaped by the Christian faith of the author, who was also involved in spiritual national defense . The native of Thurgau expressed her ties to her homeland and a. in the radio play Das Thurgauerlied . Some of Dutli-Rutishauser's works have been translated into French and Dutch .
